Physical & Chemical Characteristics:Chemical formula KClO4. Formula weight 138.55. Usually colorless crystalline or white crystalline powder. Specific gravity 2.52. FUP 582°C. Decomposes at 610±10°C. Slightly soluble in water, hardly soluble in ethanol and insoluble in ether. Antioxidant. Forms explosive mixture with organic compounds, metal powder, reductive agents, acids or carbon powder and catches fire or explodes upon friction or heat. More stable than potassium chlorate.
Use:Mainly used to produce fireworks, photography reagent and pharmaceutical illuminating flare. Also used for chemical analysis reagent and oxidant.
Package:25/50kg in polyethylene bags within PP woven bags, or 50kg in metal pail.
